Algeria and Chad strengthen energy ties with new power plant project

The Algerian delegation from Sonelgaz International, currently in N’Djamena for a working mission focused on a new power plant project, is concluding its visit to Chad. To celebrate the end of their stay, the country’s Minister of Water and Energy hosted an official dinner in their honor at a local hotel.

The evening featured traditional dances, a shared buffet, and a ceremonial cake-cutting, symbolizing the strong bond between Chad and Algeria. Following three days of technical discussions, site inspections, and field visits to the chosen location for the future 50 MW power plant, the Sonelgaz delegation expressed its commitment to supporting Chad in boosting its energy production and expanding electricity access for citizens.

Chadian authorities hailed the project as a significant act of solidarity, reinforcing the excellent relations between Chad and Algeria. The evening concluded with the exchange of symbolic gifts between the two delegations, underscoring the warmth and cooperation between the nations.
