At Chellah, Morocco and the United States celebrate 250 years of friendship

On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of American independence, celebrated for the first time at the historic Chellah site, the United States Embassy in Rabat honoured nearly two and a half centuries of ties with the Kingdom. Against a backdrop of global geopolitical and economic shifts, Washington reiterated its commitment to a strategic partnership presented as stronger than ever.

The ancient ruins of Chellah provided the setting for a deeply symbolic celebration on Tuesday evening. To mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, the American Embassy in Rabat gathered senior Moroccan officials, diplomats, and representatives from both the public and private sectors at its annual Independence Day reception, held for the first time at this historic capital site.
