Bénin primary school exams results to be released this Friday

After weeks of anticipation, candidates who sat for the 2026 Certificat d’Études Primaires (CEP) will finally learn their fate this Friday. The official announcement is scheduled for 10:30 AM, covering the results of 286,995 students who participated in the nationwide examinations.

The exams, held from June 1 to June 4, spanned across all regions of the country, with candidates distributed across 860 testing centers. The cohort included 149,424 boys and 138,571 girls, reflecting a balanced gender representation in this year’s intake.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 session took place at the public primary school of Gbofoly, in the town of Aplahoué. This year’s edition also saw the participation of 97 candidates with special needs, including 36 girls, who were accommodated in 13 dedicated centers.

According to official data from the Ministry of Pre-Primary and Primary Education, the number of candidates has increased by 5.56% compared to last year, signaling growing enrollment in the national education system.

As Friday’s announcement approaches, students and their families are holding their breath, eager to see the outcome of months of hard work. For many, this moment marks not just the completion of their primary education but also the gateway to secondary school.
