On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the blue hall of the ONAMA building hosted the launch of a landmark publication, « L’évolution de la vie parlementaire tchadienne de 1960 à 2020 », authored by former National Assembly member Issa Hassana Adoum.
Spanning 612 pages across five meticulously structured chapters, the book offers a comprehensive analysis of Chad’s parliamentary history since independence in 1960. Adoum’s work stands out for its scholarly rigor, documenting institutional shifts, political milestones, and the nation’s journey through decades of change.
Adoum emphasized that the book represents a significant contribution to the study of Chad’s political and institutional development. Designed for academics, policymakers, and future generations, it serves as both a reference document and a critical resource for understanding the evolution of governance in the country.
The author further revealed that the book originated from his doctoral thesis, now expanded into a full-length publication. Notably, the entire text is written in Arabic, a decision that sparked discussions at the event. Attendees, including prominent figures in attendance, urged for a complete French translation to broaden accessibility for students, researchers, and a wider readership.
The evening concluded with a book-signing session, where Adoum engaged directly with attendees, marking the official release of his work.
