On Thursday, August 13, 2026, Gabon’s head of state, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, led the inauguration of a cutting-edge annex building for the Direction générale des Contre-Ingérences et de la Sécurité militaire (DGCISM), widely known as the ‘B2.’ Nestled in the Bellevue 1 district of the 3rd arrondissement in Libreville, this state-of-the-art facility represents a significant leap forward in enhancing the nation’s intelligence and security infrastructure.
The new three-story annex spans 900 square meters and was meticulously designed to meet the strictest standards of confidentiality and operational security. Its strategic layout ensures seamless internal coordination, with the ground floor dedicated to judicial investigations, the first floor housing the military security directorate, and the top floor reserved for the DGCISM’s general headquarters.
Modernization applauded by leadership
Addressing a gathering of high-ranking civilian and military officials, the DGCISM Director General, Colonel Joseph Ondo Be, conveyed the organization’s deep appreciation to the President of the Republic. Describing the annex as a ‘strategic asset,’ he emphasized its transformative impact on operational conditions for the agency’s personnel.
Colonel Ondo Be also pledged to uphold rigorous management of the new facility while expressing hope for future upgrades, including renovations to the main building, modernization of regional offices, and fleet renewal.
Commitment to national institutions reaffirmed
The event reached a poignant climax when DGCISM staff collectively renewed their oath of allegiance to the Republic’s institutions. This symbolic gesture underscored their unwavering dedication to safeguarding Gabon’s sovereignty during a period marked by evolving political and security challenges, where reinforcing the rule of law remains paramount.
