A military convoy, composed of Malian soldiers and their Russian partners from the Africa Corps, failed to arrive at the scene. The jihadist group ambushed the convoy, attacking drones and destroying a bridge.
The residents of Kouakourou were forced to flee to neighboring villages or Djenné, where they are being provided with food and shelter by local authorities.
