Ousmane sonko concludes touba tour, lauds religious leaders’ role in Senegal’s peace


Concluding his series of important courtesy visits in the holy city of Touba, Mr. Ousmane Sonko, the President of the National Assembly, met with several prominent spiritual figures. His engagements included an audience with Serigne Cheikh Say Mbacké, who holds the esteemed position of Khalife of Serigne Souhaïbou Mbacké. Subsequently, he visited Serigne Cheikh Mbacké, the Khalife of Serigne Abdoul Khadre Mbacké, and finally, Serigne Fallou Mbacké Ibn Serigne Souhaïbou Mbacké, marking the culmination of his day’s interactions.

At each stop throughout this significant tour, the President of the National Assembly consistently expressed his profound appreciation and admiration for the pivotal role played by religious authorities in safeguarding Senegal’s peace, ensuring its stability, and fostering national cohesion.

In a heartwarming reciprocal gesture, the religious leaders offered heartfelt prayers and bestowed blessings upon Mr. Sonko. They also specifically prayed for the continued peace, enduring stability, and prosperity of the entire nation of Senegal.
