PASTEF-Les Patriotes recently concluded an impactful 48-hour political outreach across Senegal’s historic Jolof region. Led by party figure Ousmane Sonko and joined by Minister of State Habib Sy, along with numerous national executives and coalition partners, delegations traversed all 19 communes within the Linguère department, reaching communities from Dahra to Barkédji, including Sagatta and Yang-Yang.
This extensive immersion into the heart of Jolof served as a powerful demonstration of the party’s local strength and deep roots. The itinerary featured respectful courtesy visits and dialogues with the region’s esteemed religious and traditional authorities, alongside focused strategic working sessions with PASTEF’s grassroots structures, encompassing youth, women, and party executives.
Strengthening territorial reach and opening the departmental headquarters
Following this robust mobilization, the local party leadership officially unveiled their strategic roadmap for the upcoming period. A pivotal moment of this significant journey was the inauguration of PASTEF’s permanent departmental office in Linguère. This event officially launched the campaign for distributing membership cards, aiming to solidify the party’s territorial network through intensive community engagement in villages and neighborhoods across the department.
A call for unity
In the wake of these internal organizational enhancements, local political leaders issued a solemn appeal for unity. This call for broader assembly is directed not only at long-standing activists and sympathizers but also extends to political figures from other affiliations who wish to align with the territorial development vision championed by PASTEF.
