The PASTEF-Les Patriotes party has successfully concluded a two-day political engagement across the Jolof region. This extensive tour, encompassing all 19 communes within the Linguère department—from Dahra to Barkédji, traversing Sagatta and Yang-Yang—witnessed the active participation of party leader Ousmane Sonko, alongside Minister of State Habib Sy, numerous national executives, and coalition allies.
A highlight of the mobilization involved strategic meetings with local religious and customary authorities, as well as direct interactions with the party’s foundational structures, including youth movements, women’s groups, and executive cadres. Following these impactful sessions, the local leadership of PASTEF formalized its strategic roadmap for upcoming initiatives. With the inauguration of the new departmental headquarters and the commencement of member card distribution, PASTEF aims to solidify its regional presence through a dedicated, grassroots approach in the villages and neighborhoods throughout the department.
Concurrently with this internal organizational drive, local political officials are extending an open invitation for unity and collaboration to militants, sympathizers, and political stakeholders from other formations who are keen to join their vision for territorial development. This outreach reflects a broader pan-African current affairs trend of strengthening political bases.
