A group of young individuals targeted a bus shelter, while others near the Parc des Princes launched fireworks at police officers, who responded with tear gas. Clashes intensified as free-floating bicycles were set ablaze, and the iconic Champs-Élysées became a battleground for confrontations between youth and authorities.
Chaos spilled onto the Périphérique, Paris’s ring road, where scooters weaved dangerously through blocked lanes, some driving the wrong way. A 24-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a concrete barrier erected to halt traffic. By early Sunday, another incident left a 17-year-old in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times.

Violence and unrest were not confined to the capital. Incidents were documented in nearly a dozen cities, including Grenoble, where looting and vandalism damaged local businesses. In total, 780 individuals were detained across France, with 457 still held in custody as of Sunday afternoon.
