The President of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), Tidjane Thiam, conveyed a message to the Nation on August 6, 2026, where he commended the initiatives undertaken by the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, aimed at fostering a more relaxed political atmosphere. Concurrently, Thiam urged all Ivorians to come together, embracing the core values of unity and hope for the nation’s future.
In his address, the prominent leader of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire explicitly acknowledged “the steps taken by Alassane Ouattara to bring about peace in our country’s political landscape.” He underscored that these efforts represent encouraging indicators for strengthening national cohesion across Côte d’Ivoire.
During the Independence Day celebrations held in Yopougon, Tidjane Thiam also announced the PDCI-RDA’s active participation in this significant national event. He articulated his reasoning, emphasizing the unifying essence of this commemoration. “We are all Ivorians, and the national holiday belongs to the entire Nation,” he affirmed, highlighting the shared heritage.
