As part of the upcoming 22nd World Blood Donor Day on 14 June 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) in Lomé is urging residents of the capital and surrounding areas to come forward and give blood.
This year’s celebration, held under the theme “A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives.”, will feature a special blood drive on Friday, 12 June 2026, running from 08:00 to 16:00.
Two collection points in Lomé
Donors can choose from two designated sites:
- The National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) premises in Tokoin Doumasséssé, opposite EPP Doumasséssé 1;
- The Tokoin Collection and Distribution Centre (PCD), located inside Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital (CHU), behind the haemodialysis unit.
A solidarity appeal to save lives
Through this initiative, the CNTS aims to boost blood reserves and meet the needs of health facilities across Togo. The institution is calling on the public to participate in large numbers, reminding everyone that a single donation can help save multiple lives.
“We are all united by giving,” the centre said, counting on the generosity and civic commitment of donors to make the event a success.
The CNTS in Lomé extends its advance gratitude to all volunteers for their contribution to this solidarity action in support of patients requiring blood transfusions.
