The Beninese leader was greeted at Lomé’s Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport by Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, marking the start of intensive talks between the two neighboring nations.
This stop in Togo is part of a wider regional tour designed to reinforce diplomatic alliances and ease lingering political tensions. « I thank my brother, H.E. Romuald Wadagni, President of the Republic of Benin, for his working visit today to Lomé, » Faure Gnassingbé remarked at the welcome ceremony.
