Patrice Talon has been elected as the first President of the Senate, tasked with steering legislative sessions, representing the institution, and ensuring smooth governance. His election underscores a pivotal moment in Benin’s parliamentary evolution.
Louis Vlavonou has been named Vice-President, positioned to support Talon in daily operations and assume leadership in his absence. The Senate’s structure was further solidified with the appointment of Alassane Séidou as Rapporteur, responsible for overseeing procedural matters, while Adidjatou Mathys serves as Deputy Rapporteur.
First Senate Bureau takes shape
