In an official statement released from Cotonou, Bénin’s authorities expressed deep concern over the incident, condemning the assault on a critical civilian infrastructure.
« The attack on Niamey’s airport is an unacceptable act that endangers the lives of innocent civilians and disrupts regional stability, » the statement declared.
The communiqué further emphasized Bénin’s solidarity with both the government and citizens of Niger, including President Abdourahamane Tiani. It also highlighted the strong historical and fraternal bonds shared between the two nations.
