Strengthening bilateral ties between Libreville and Banjul
Gabon’s Head of State, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, arrived yesterday in Banjul, the capital of Gambia, for a four-day working and friendship visit. He was warmly received by his counterpart, President Adama Barrow, with whom he held a private meeting before engaging in bilateral talks at the official residence. The discussions centered on reviewing existing cooperation frameworks and exploring new avenues for partnership between the two nations. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Gabon–Gambia bilateral cooperation and fostering sustainable economic growth.

The visit, aimed at reinforcing the Libreville–Banjul axis, also provided an opportunity for President Oligui Nguema to tour key government facilities and historical landmarks. Among the sites he visited were the National Food and Drug Quality Control Laboratory in Brusubi, the University of Gambia, the National Emergency Treatment Center in Farato, and the renowned Kachikally Crocodile Pool in Bakau.
