The detention of Cameroonian digital personality Elysée Le Sneiper in Côte d’Ivoire has ignited fierce debates across Cameroon’s social media landscape. The move has prompted a prominent Cameroonian comedian, Moustik Le Karismatik, to publicly challenge the government’s response through a powerful statement on Meta.

Elysée Le Sneiper, known for his sharp social commentary, was taken into custody in Abidjan. Authorities reportedly accused him of insulting the Ivorian head of state—a serious charge that stems from a controversial video clip circulating online. The footage, which dates back to 2023, appears to have been taken out of context during a period of heightened tensions between Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire.

In response to the arrest, Elysée Le Sneiper addressed the situation directly through a video posted on his Meta page. He issued a formal apology to the Ivorian people, acknowledging the escalation of the matter and seeking to clarify his position.

Following the influencer’s detention, Moustik Le Karismatik took to social media to demand accountability from Cameroonian authorities. His appeal targeted both the Cameroonian embassy in Côte d’Ivoire and the office of President Paul Biya.
