King Mohamed VI presented a robust assessment of Morocco’s current trajectory amid escalating global instability, focusing on three critical pillars: domestic stability and national security that foster public confidence; economic growth driven by industrialization and technological advancement, with 80% self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical, automotive, and food sectors; and the accelerated development of green energy initiatives, particularly green hydrogen.

The monarch emphasized persistent efforts to reduce socioeconomic disparities, stressing that macroeconomic health must translate into tangible improvements across all regions of the Kingdom.

“Alongside our economic momentum,” the King stated, “we continue deploying comprehensive human development programs and expanding social protection to enhance living standards and achieve both social and spatial justice.”

Addressing the need for financial mobilization, Mohamed VI called for stronger domestic savings to consolidate recent achievements and prepare for major national projects following the upcoming September 2026 legislative elections.

As part of the Throne Day celebrations, the King granted clemency to 1,788 individuals, including detainees and those on parole, according to an official statement from the Ministry of Justice.

“Praise be to God, prayers and peace be upon the Prophet, his family, and companions.

Dear citizens,

With immense pride and deep satisfaction, we celebrate today the 27th anniversary of Our accession to the throne. For 27 years, divine will has entrusted Us with guiding the nation’s destiny—a noble mission requiring unwavering dedication.

Reflecting on the Quranic verse: “If you are grateful, I shall certainly increase you in favor,” We express gratitude for the blessings that have guided Our path to fulfilling your aspirations.

Never have personal glory or international recognition been Our objectives. Instead, Our sole purpose has been to serve you with dignity, ensuring every Moroccan enjoys freedom and opportunity.

Today’s review of our collective achievements fills Us with honor and optimism for the future. This progress is no coincidence—it stems from a clear strategic vision, rigorous implementation, constructive self-criticism, and a resolute commitment to building a better tomorrow.

Stability as Morocco’s Strategic Asset

What fills Us with greatest pride is the stability and security prevailing in Morocco, coupled with the efficient functioning of its public institutions. In a region plagued by turmoil, Morocco’s political steadiness is a rare and invaluable asset that underpins our development agenda.

This stability is the cornerstone of Morocco’s progress—one that strengthens our sovereignty and regional standing. Our millennia-old nation draws strength from its institutional harmony, allowing us to overcome challenges while maintaining global admiration for our organizational prowess, as demonstrated during major international events.

Morocco’s resilience was evident in its proactive response to recent floods in the Gharb and northern regions, showcasing both institutional efficiency and national solidarity.

Under this stable environment, positive indicators across all sectors are multiplying, reinforcing our economic emergence and safeguarding national sovereignty. In 2025, growth reached 4.9%, with projections for 2026 maintaining or exceeding this rate.

Economic Transformation and Industrial Sovereignty

Key sectors—automotive, aeronautics, renewable energy, and agri-food industries—have become pillars of our productive fabric, attracting investment and generating wealth and employment.

Morocco now ranks as Africa’s top automotive exporter, with annual production approaching one million vehicles. These industries, along with aeronautics, account for over 40% of national exports, surpassing traditional phosphate revenues.

This momentum was further boosted by the inauguration of new industrial units earlier this year, positioning Morocco among elite nations specializing in aircraft engine and landing system manufacturing.

Our renewable energy strategy aims to make clean energy a cornerstone of energy security while attracting industries seeking competitive, decarbonized power. The operationalization of the “Moroccan Green Hydrogen Offer” has begun, with initial mega-projects securing development licenses.

In today’s protectionist global climate, Morocco has prioritized strengthening national sovereignty through strategic self-sufficiency. Our agro-food and pharmaceutical industries now meet nearly 80% of domestic needs, while establishing a defense and cybersecurity industrial base will gradually enhance our defensive capabilities and regional influence.

Social Development and Inclusive Growth

Parallel to economic progress, Morocco continues advancing human development through expanded social protection programs. Our goal remains improving living conditions nationwide while ensuring equitable distribution of opportunities across all regions.

To sustain this transformation, We call for mobilizing domestic financial resources, particularly from institutional savings, to fuel investment and expand access to financing for SMEs, innovation, and industrialization.
