Ludovic megne ndong assumes leadership of Gabon’s rail transport authority

Ludovic Megne Ndong has officially commenced his tenure as the new president of Gabon’s Rail Transport Regulatory Authority (ARTF). The formal handover ceremony, marking his succession to François Banga Eboumi, took place in Owendo.

Previously serving as the Minister of Housing, Ludovic Megne Ndong now heads the ARTF’s regulatory council. His primary mandate is to guide the implementation of the institution’s newly defined strategic directions. He has explicitly stated his intention to rigorously apply the provisions outlined in the ordinance that governs the reorganization and functioning of the ARTF.

Furthermore, the new president aims to foster stronger dialogue with social partners and the authority’s staff. This collaborative approach is intended to enhance the overall operational efficiency of the ARTF and improve working conditions for its teams. Among the immediate priorities announced are the strategic redeployment of control teams and the recommencement of inspections along the vital Transgabonais railway corridor, stretching from Owendo to Franceville.

The installation ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including François Ndong Obiang, the Minister of Reform and Relations with Institutions, and Adrien Moukabi, the Executive Secretary of the ARTF. This significant appointment unfolds amidst a period of comprehensive reforms currently underway within Gabon’s railway sector.
