Mali: 940 camions escortés par les FAMa entre Kayes et Bamako

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) conducted an escort and security operation for civilian vehicles along the Kayes–Sandaré–Diéma–Bamako road corridor from 23 to 29 June 2026. The mission aimed to strengthen security on this vital route.

An initial detachment from the FAMa escorted a convoy of 540 civilian trucks from Kayes to Sandaré. Simultaneously, a second group departed from Diéma on 23 June to join the convoy, taking charge of the 540 trucks as well as several vehicles that had been stranded in Sandaré.

After regrouping at Diéma, the convoy reached a total of 940 civilian trucks. Escorted by the FAMa, the convoy passed through Sebabougou, Kwala, Diédiéni, Kolokani, and Kati before arriving in Bamako without any major incidents.

This operation is part of the FAMa’s ongoing missions to secure strategic road corridors, thereby ensuring the protection of users and the free movement of goods and people across the national territory.
