Mali restores air links and sends ambassador back to Algeria

The Government of Mali has announced the restoration of its diplomatic and aviation ties with Algeria, marking a significant thaw in bilateral relations between the two nations.

In an official statement released today, Malian authorities confirmed the return of their ambassador to Algiers. The communiqué emphasized that this move is part of efforts to revitalize cooperation and strengthen the historical bonds between the Republic of Mali and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

The Malian government also declared that its airspace is now fully open to all Algerian civilian and military flights. This reciprocal gesture follows Algeria’s earlier decision to lift restrictions on Malian aircraft, signaling a clear path toward reestablishing mutual trust and diplomatic normalcy.

The swift sequence of these announcements underscores the urgency and commitment both nations are placing on rebuilding their relationship after recent tensions.
