Mohammed VI’s Throne Speech Reflects Royal Strategy to Strengthen Morocco’s Global Economic Position

The throne speech delivered by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of his accession to the throne reflects a royal strategy aimed at solidifying Morocco’s position in a highly competitive global economy, according to Mohamed Daâdaoui, a Moroccan-American political scientist.

The speech showcases an evolution of a long-term vision that has guided Morocco’s development over the past few years, said Dr. Daâdaoui, who heads the department of political science, history, and philosophy at the University of Oklahoma City.

More than just a review of achievements, the speech illustrates a Moroccan model of development founded on long-term planning, efficient implementation, and sustained investments, while also consolidating a broader approach to governance that has contributed to Morocco’s stability and security, as well as its institutional effectiveness, Dr. Daâdaoui explained.

Dr. Daâdaoui pointed out that the King’s emphasis on high-tech industries, renewable energy, aerospace, defense industries, and resilient supply chains aims to equip Morocco with the necessary strengths to strengthen its position in a global economy facing numerous challenges.

In conclusion, the royal strategy outlined by the Kingdom to tackle tomorrow’s challenges relies on a more diversified national economy, driven by innovation, industrial growth, and technological progress, Dr. Daâdaoui concluded.
