Niamey, July 27, 2026 — High-level talks among leaders of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) continue as the region marks three years since the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) assumed power in Niger. Today, General Mohamed Toumba, Niger’s Minister of State for Interior, Public Security, and Territorial Administration, met with Bassolma Bazié, President of Burkina Faso’s AES National Commission.
Bazié, visiting Niger to participate in commemorative events, visited the Ministry of Interior to exchange a formal courtesy call. The meeting provided an opportunity for both officials to discuss pressing issues facing AES member states and explore ways to deepen strategic partnerships.
