Niger’s investment forum 2026 kicks off with high-level committee launch

The Nigerien government has taken a decisive step toward organizing the Invest in Niger Forum 2026, scheduled for November 24–26, by officially launching the organizing committee. Tasked with showcasing the nation’s economic potential to both domestic and international investors, the committee is now at the heart of a strategic push to transform the event into a landmark platform for economic growth.

With the countdown officially underway in Niamey, the ad hoc committee has begun its work under the watchful eye of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Abdoulaye Seydou. Addressing the newly appointed members, he underscored the forum’s critical role in shaping the country’s economic future, emphasizing its potential to attract vital investment flows.

Rigorous preparation and cross-sector collaboration

The minister called for unwavering professionalism, strict adherence to deadlines, and seamless coordination among all stakeholders involved. The forum’s success hinges on flawless execution, as it aims to welcome high-profile international delegations, including honored guests from Turkey, China, and Russia, alongside special envoys from across Africa and beyond.

A broad diplomatic mobilization

The forum will also see participation from delegations representing Burkina Faso and Mali—key partners within the Sahel States Confederation (AES)—as well as Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia, reflecting a concerted effort to strengthen regional and international economic ties.

Structured governance through specialized subcommittees

The ad hoc committee brings together experts from various ministries and professional bodies, organized into four specialized subcommittees, each tasked with a distinct role:

  • Scientific – Identifying and promoting high-impact investment projects.

  • Logistics, Exhibition, Protocol, and Security – Ensuring flawless event execution.

  • Communication and Institutional Coordination – Managing outreach and partnerships.

  • Finance and Project Evaluation – Assessing feasibility and securing funding for selected initiatives.

Collectively, these teams are responsible for defining the event’s strategic framework, crafting the program, selecting bankable projects to showcase, and ensuring the forum’s national and international visibility.

Positioning Niger as a prime investment destination

Beyond logistics, this initiative aligns with a broader political vision. The authorities behind the Refoundation agenda are determined to revitalize the national economy and position Niger as a strategic and preferred destination for private, regional, and international capital. The Invest in Niger Forum 2026 serves as a key diplomatic and economic instrument in this strategy, particularly as neighboring countries seek to diversify their economic partnerships.

The newly formed committee now faces the challenge of turning this ambitious roadmap into a reality in just over four months, delivering an event that meets the government’s high expectations.
