Tchad political climate alarm raised by opposition party

In a bold move, Chad’s opposition party Les Patriotes has sounded the alarm over the deteriorating political climate in the country. During a press conference held in N’Djamena on Wednesday, the party—an active member of the former Groupe de concertation des acteurs politiques (GCAP)—highlighted what it calls a systematic tightening of government control. The accusations come amid a wave of legal proceedings targeting prominent political figures, raising concerns about judicial fairness.

The opposition also drew attention to a worrying surge in security instability across the nation, warning that ethnic divisions are deepening at an alarming rate. These developments have fueled fears of escalating unrest and further polarization in Chad’s already fragile socio-political landscape.
