Uber expands operations to Agadir and Tanger to boost tourism in Maroc

To keep pace with the rising number of visitors—with Maroc aiming to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030—Uber is introducing a “reliable, safe, and practical mobility” solution. This initiative is focused on improving the quality of the traveler experience, ensuring smooth transitions from hotel arrivals to exploring local landmarks and city centers with ease.

By establishing a presence in Agadir and Tanger, the platform seeks to meet the increasing demand for modern transportation. Users in both cities can now book rides through the mobile application, selecting between the UberX and UberXL categories that have already proven successful in Casablanca and Rabat. This expansion provides a consistent mobility solution for those navigating the kingdom.

The tourism sector in Maroc has shown remarkable resilience and growth, reaching a record 19.8 million visitors in 2025, which represents a 14% increase over the previous year. Financial performance has followed suit, with revenues hitting 124 billion dirhams between January and November. This momentum continued into the first quarter of 2026, as 4.3 million visitors were recorded, a 7% rise compared to the same period in the prior year.
