During a press briefing, Aminata Touré, the National Coordinator of the Diomaye Président coalition, addressed the abrupt dismissal of former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
She emphasized that Sonko’s tenure as head of government ended in failure, citing unmet expectations and unresolved challenges. Aminata Touré remarked with sharp irony, “Niou fal la Premier ministre djokh la ay dossiers meuno ci touss niou dakeu la.”
Highlighting what she described as a lack of concrete results, Aminata Touré underscored that true leadership in Senegal is measured by problem-solving, strategic vision, and effective governance—not by exercising power without delivering solutions.
Accountability and competence over prolonged authority
In her statement, Aminata Touré cautioned against the misuse of political prerogatives, stressing that leadership demands tangible outcomes rather than prolonged influence without progress. She argued that the Senegalese people deserve leaders who prioritize their needs through actionable strategies and collaborative networks.
