Ouagadougou and Rome have sealed their enduring partnership during a vibrant commemoration of Italy’s 80th Republic Day. The evening event, hosted on June 2, 2026, by the Italian Embassy in Burkina Faso’s capital, brought together high-ranking Burkinabè officials, diplomatic corps members, and the Italian community.
Representing Burkina Faso’s government, Deputy Foreign Minister Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré attended the gathering, which blended moments of reflection, camaraderie, and celebration of the deep-rooted historical ties between the two nations.

Italian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Gabriele Di Muzio, emphasized the strength of bilateral cooperation, particularly through initiatives led by Italy’s development cooperation agency. He underscored Rome’s commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in stabilization efforts, humanitarian aid, and socioeconomic growth.

« Our mission in Burkina Faso is driven by the sole purpose of serving the Burkinabè people. We are convinced that lasting partnerships thrive on shared values and mutual respect, » the ambassador stated.
In her address, Deputy Minister Kabré/Kaboré conveyed warm congratulations from Burkina Faso’s President and citizens to the Italian community. She praised the resilience of a cooperation built on solidarity, trust, and joint efforts to foster development.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted Burkina Faso’s investment potential across key sectors, urging Italian business operators to explore the opportunities facilitated by the government. She called for deeper economic exchanges and stronger business partnerships to further strengthen the bilateral relationship.
