Fbi deputy director commends Morocco’s pivotal role in 2026 world cup security

Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), recently visited the International Police Cooperation Centre (IPCC). This crucial hub brings together representatives from law enforcement agencies and security services of all nations participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

His visit underscores the advanced security framework meticulously established for all matches throughout the global tournament. During his time at the IPCC, the American official held a specialized meeting with delegates from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

Mr. Raia extended his profound appreciation for Morocco’s active involvement in ensuring the event’s security and its consistent contributions across all phases of the tournament. He explicitly stated that the FBI regards the Kingdom as a highly dependable partner, distinguished by its internationally acknowledged expertise and unwavering credibility.

Speaking before representatives of various foreign security services present at the IPCC, the FBI Deputy Director underscored the paramount importance of international partnership and multilateral cooperation, particularly in intelligence sharing, for the comprehensive security plan of the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States.

He further highlighted the immense challenge involved in securing 78 matches spanning a period of nearly two weeks. He emphasized that achieving such a monumental objective would be utterly impossible without exceptionally close international collaboration.

Christopher Raia observed a notable increase in the number of threats successfully neutralized by American authorities within their borders. This positive trend, he explained, is directly attributable to the precision of intelligence transmitted and the continuous, vital support provided by partner countries.
