At the Luxembourg Palace, the official seat of France’s Senate, the Gabonese leader received a ceremonial welcome befitting a head of state. He then held a constructive meeting with Senate President Gérard Larcher, who praised the Gabonese authorities’ recent efforts to drive development in Libreville. Larcher also commended President Oligui Nguema’s straightforward political discourse, reinforcing the commitment to pragmatic cooperation between Gabon and France.
These fruitful discussions underscored a clear message: Gabon is recalibrating its bilateral relations with Paris, prioritizing dialogue, investment, and mutual interests. Earlier in the day, President Oligui Nguema attended a warm reception at Paris City Hall, hosted by Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire.
