The President of Kenya, William Ruto, praised on Wednesday, May 15, the strong bilateral ties between Kenya and Chad, as well as President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s dedication to international security and the Africa Forward Summit’s achievements.
Following a meeting at the State House in Nairobi with his Chadian counterpart, William Ruto highlighted the diplomatic relations between the two nations as “built on shared values, mutual respect, and African solidarity.” He underscored the commitment of both countries to advance common positions “to serve the interests of African peoples, drive continental progress, and foster global cooperation.”
The Kenyan Head of State also commended Chad’s involvement in the United Nations-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti. He emphasized that this participation strengthens international efforts to restore “peace, stability, and hope” in the Caribbean nation.
William Ruto further expressed gratitude to the Chadian President for Chad’s “significant contribution” to the success of the Africa Forward Summit, held this week in Nairobi. The event unfolded against a backdrop of renewed efforts by France and multiple African partners to redefine their economic, political, and security collaboration.
