The summer transfer window is already heating up, and Olympique de Marseille is making headlines once again. The club is under pressure from UEFA and must sell players to avoid being banned from European competitions. While Mason Greenwood’s future dominates discussions, another key star could also be heading for the exit.

After a disastrous season, no one is safe at Marseille. Missing out on Champions League qualification already forced OM to tighten its belt, but a recent warning from UEFA has turned the situation into an urgent one. New sporting director Grégory Lorenzi is working on multiple fronts to manage this crucial summer for the club.
Greenwood could leave OM
The first major case is well-known: all eyes are on Mason Greenwood. The 24-year-old winger, Marseille’s top scorer over the past two seasons, appears to be on his way out. Fenerbahçe and especially AS Roma are interested in signing him. Italian media report advanced negotiations with Roma, but there has been a recent cooling. OM was reportedly unhappy with Roma’s approach, as the Italian club contacted the player directly without informing Marseille first.
Højbjerg also set to depart?
While the Greenwood deal seems to be stalling, another transfer could accelerate. Atalanta is eager to convince Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to leave Marseille. The Danish international is the top target for new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who previously tried to sign him for Juventus. The door is not closed; in fact, OM has agreed to let Højbjerg go, setting a minimum price of €10m.
