A high-level military delegation from Morocco, led by General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, concluded a significant working visit to Mauritania this week.
During the visit, General Mohammed Berrid was received by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani in Nouakchott. The meeting took place in the presence of Morocco’s Ambassador to Mauritania, Hamid Chabar, as confirmed by an official statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
Later that same day, General Berrid met with Mauritania’s Minister of Defense, Hanana Ould Sidi. During the meeting, the Mauritanian minister presented the Moroccan general with the Commander grade of the National Order of Merit, an honor bestowed by the Mauritanian President.
Following these official engagements, General Berrid and Mauritania’s Chief of Staff co-chaired the sixth session of the joint military commission. Discussions focused on reviewing the progress of bilateral military cooperation between the two nations.
The military officials expressed strong satisfaction with the positive outcomes of this partnership, highlighting tangible achievements that reflect the depth of strategic collaboration. They emphasized that this cooperation serves as a benchmark for effective military alliances in the region.
