The Moroccan Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Hicham Balaoui, engaged in a working session on Thursday, July 9, in Rabat, with Chad’s Inspector General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou. This meeting was part of a working visit aimed at learning from Morocco’s approach to preventing and combating corruption.
During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui outlined the core components of Morocco’s anti-corruption framework, highlighting the legal and institutional structures in place, as well as the penal policies implemented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The talks also covered comparative best practices in tackling corruption, according to an official statement.
Key initiatives showcased to the Chadian delegation
The Chadian delegation was briefed on several initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, including a dedicated hotline for reporting corruption and extortion cases. Additionally, they learned about the e-TABLIGH digital platform, which enables citizens to report alleged corrupt acts while ensuring the secure processing of complaints through cutting-edge digital technologies.
