Authorities recall the April 13, 2017 Europa League quarter-final first leg against Besiktas (2-1), where projectile exchanges between rival fans in the north stand escalated into violent confrontations involving riot police. In October 2024, during a Champions League group stage match (0-1), Beşiktaş supporters returned to Décines-Charpieu in a highly restricted fixture attended by just 30,000 spectators due to stringent security measures.
Restricted ticketing to prevent unauthorized resale

After this initial phase, Olympique Lyonnais will extend ticket sales to regular supporters based on club records, beginning next Monday. This tiered approach will prevent spectators who recently secured tickets for previous matches, such as the Champions League playoff return against Sparta Prague (3-0), from gaining access to the stands.
