The judicial authorities are stepping up their game plan. The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office has announced it will mobilize an enhanced operational setup, deployable in the event of mass gatherings, this weekend, specifically due to the Champions League final pitting PSG against Arsenal on Saturday in Budapest.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, up to seven magistrates will be on call, including specialized juvenile court judges, to handle cases of public order disturbances. The communication stresses that “the juvenile court prosecutor’s office has adjusted its on-call procedures in coordination with neighboring jurisdictions to ensure swift responses, particularly for minors residing outside Paris.”
With violent incidents anticipated by local stakeholders and police authorities, the Paris prosecutor emphasizes that immediate court appearances will be prioritized starting Saturday, even before the largest gatherings occur. Legal proceedings can be initiated to extend investigations beyond the standard detention period, and serious offenses reported outside the immediate timeframe of flagrante delicto will also be subject to thorough follow-up for potential future prosecution.
