Senegalese actress Bigué Diop, also known as Mame Dior, aged 32, is currently facing significant legal challenges. Her entanglement with the law began on March 26 when she was called to the gendarmerie. Initially, the summons was in response to a defamation complaint she had filed herself, following the viral spread of TikTok videos that accused her of theft. However, during her subsequent questioning, the situation took an unexpected turn, leading to her own arrest and implication in a theft case.
The investigative process quickly escalated when authorities seized and examined her mobile phone. This examination reportedly uncovered evidence that led to the introduction of a second, more controversial charge: "acts against nature," which implicitly refers to alleged homosexual relations. This development has added a complex layer to the ongoing legal proceedings involving the popular Senegalese actress.
By April 2, a judge had formally indicted Bigué Diop on both counts. For the theft-related allegations, which encompass charges of criminal association and money laundering, the actress has been placed under judicial supervision. Ouseynou Ngom, Bigué Diop’s legal representative, has voiced strong opposition to the charges.
