The 23-year-old edged out fellow nominees including João Pedro (Chelsea), Granit Xhaka (Sunderland), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth), Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal), Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds) to claim the prestigious accolade.
Signed from Antwerp last summer for €21 million, Lammens quickly established himself as a cornerstone of United’s defense. Since making his first Premier League start in October against Sunderland, he has been a fixture in the starting lineup, featuring in 37 matches, conceding 45 goals, and keeping eight clean sheets in his maiden top-flight campaign.

Lammens’ composure and reliability have made him a symbol of Manchester United’s resurgence, with the club securing a third-place finish in the Premier League. His performances have drawn admiration from former Red Devils stars, including Rio Ferdinand, who recently hailed the young goalkeeper’s potential: “He’s been outstanding, and he’s young. I believe he’s destined to stay at Manchester United for the next decade and become their undisputed number one.”
With his sights set on next summer’s World Cup, Lammens will serve as Thibaut Courtois’ backup for Belgium. However, his future in the national team and at club level appears secure for years to come.
