Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens hailed as premier league transfer of the season
After an outstanding debut season with Manchester United, Belgian international Senne Lammens has been honored as the Premier League’s top transfer.

Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been crowned the Premier League’s best transfer of the season after an impressive debut campaign with Manchester United. The 23-year-old edged out fellow nominees including João Pedro (Chelsea), Granit Xhaka (Sunderland), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth), Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal), Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds) to claim the prestigious accolade.
Signed from Antwerp last summer for €21 million, Lammens quickly established himself as a cornerstone of United’s defense. Since making his first Premier League start in October against Sunderland, he has been a fixture in the starting lineup, featuring in 37 matches, conceding 45 goals, and keeping eight clean sheets in his maiden top-flight campaign.
Praise from football legends
Lammens’ composure and reliability have made him a symbol of Manchester United’s resurgence, with the club securing a third-place finish in the Premier League. His performances have drawn admiration from former Red Devils stars, including Rio Ferdinand, who recently hailed the young goalkeeper’s potential: “He’s been outstanding, and he’s young. That’s what I love about him—he’s young, he’ll gain more experience, and he’ll only get better from here. I believe he’s destined to stay at Manchester United for the next decade and become their undisputed number one.”
With his sights set on next summer’s World Cup, Lammens will serve as Thibaut Courtois’ backup for Belgium. However, his future in the national team and at club level appears secure for years to come.
