Waly Diouf Bodian, a political leader of Pastef, has strongly reacted to recent statements by Professor Mary Teuw Niang concerning verbal violence and respect in public debate. The politician accuses the former minister of higher education of inconsistency after attacks directed at Pastef leader Ousmane Sonko.
Bodian categorically rejects the academic’s calls for calm and denounces his institutional stance. “After calling President Ousmane Sonko an impostor, Mary Teuw Niang now comes to lecture us on verbal violence and respect for others. It’s too late, Professor,” declared Bodian. Continuing his tirade, the political figure added: “Your literary nonsense on Sundays no longer works with us patriots. We do not respect those who do not respect Ousmane Sonko.” He concluded by accusing Mary Teuw Niang of having drifted from national values to align with the government.
