Prominent Kosovar football commentator Arlind Sadiku, currently covering the World Cup for Artmotion, has confirmed that the transfer of the forward to Borussia Dortmund is complete. Sadiku indicated that all aspects of the deal have been finalized.

• Despite being under contract with Hoffenheim until 2029, the talented Kosovar player possessed a performance-related release clause. Given Borussia Dortmund’s consistent qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stage over the past three seasons, this specific clause has been activated, setting the transfer fee at precisely 30 million euros.

The 23-year-old forward truly shone in the recently concluded season, establishing himself as one of the league’s most sought-after attackers. His impressive tally of eleven goals and ten assists across 35 official matches clearly showcased his exceptional abilities.

• BVB squad dynamics: what’s next for Guirassy and Adeyemi?

Asllani’s departure from Kraichgau has been widely anticipated.

The imminent arrival of this central forward is expected to significantly reshape Borussia Dortmund’s attacking options. Bringing in another top-tier striker strongly suggests that departures from the Black and Yellows’ offensive line are on the horizon, with Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi frequently mentioned as potential exits.

• Guirassy’s future at BVB remains uncertain

Karamba Guirassy, brother and advisor to the 30-year-old Serhou Guirassy, recently dismissed speculation about a finalized transfer to Turkish club Fenerbahçe. He emphatically stated, “To be clear: no agreement of any kind has been reached. Serhou is currently evaluating his options for the upcoming season. Claims of a verbal agreement are simply false.”

Borussia Dortmund management has reportedly re-engaged in discussions to persuade him to extend his tenure beyond the current season, presenting him with a long-term vision for his role at Signal Iduna Park.

A significant challenge for the Black and Yellows is that the 30-year-old forward will, in all likelihood, await the conclusion of the World Cup before making a definitive decision on his future.

A quick glance at his statistics reveals why the Guinean international is so highly sought after and why Borussia Dortmund is fighting to retain him: since 2024, he has featured in 96 official matches, netting an impressive 60 goals and providing 15 assists.

• Adeyemi’s future at BVB remains uncertain

Adeyemi is set to enter the final year of his contract next season. Should Borussia Dortmund fail to secure an extension for the forward, who joined in 2022, he would become eligible for a free transfer in the summer of 2027.

Negotiations are anticipated to be challenging; the player, currently earning approximately 6.5 million euros annually, is reportedly seeking a figure exceeding ten million.

Furthermore, Adeyemi and his representatives are also demanding a release clause.

Considering the significant fluctuations in the 24-year-old’s performance, Borussia Dortmund’s management appears hesitant to meet all of his demands.

Under manager Niko Kovac, the forward has not established himself as an undisputed starter, making 28 Bundesliga appearances with an average of only 42 minutes per match and scoring just four goals across all competitions in 2026.
