As part of ongoing efforts coordinated by the mayor of Abéché to improve public hygiene and food safety, the administration of the 1st arrondissement conducted an operation this Thursday to dismantle a clandestine slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighborhood.

Led by the assistant to the delegated administrator, Hissein Hassan Tabit, the intervention put an end to illegal slaughtering activities carried out outside sanitary and regulatory standards. Several heads of cattle were discovered on the site during the operation.

District authorities reminded that animal slaughter must be performed only in approved facilities to guarantee the wholesomeness of meat for consumption. They also announced continued inspection operations to combat any practices endangering public health.

Through this action, the municipality of Abéché reaffirms its determination to enforce hygiene rules, protect consumers, and promote a healthy environment for all.
