Investor focus fuels Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions
Abidjan — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off today under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. Held at the Abidjan Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, the session brought together over 700 delegates from friendly nations, signaling strong international interest in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory.
The Prime Minister opened the session by emphasizing the forum’s core mission: to rally private investment for the ambitious development agenda. « This gathering marks a pivotal step in our collective journey toward economic growth, enterprise development, and value creation, » he stated before a room packed with business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives.
The government has positioned the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. Prime Minister Mambé reassured attendees of the nation’s robust economic resilience, highlighted by an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years despite global instability. « Côte d’Ivoire stands out as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, and today’s opportunities reflect that momentum, » he noted.
Key sectors identified for investment include industrialization, local raw material processing, infrastructure (transport, digital, and logistics), human capital development, innovation, and essential services. « These pillars will not only enhance competitiveness but also ensure an inclusive, productive economy, » he added.
The first day of the forum, focused on institutional partners, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries. Today’s investor-centric session builds on that momentum, fostering direct dialogue between policymakers and the business community to align strategies and accelerate project implementation.
Private sector voices respond with commitment
Leaders from major business networks echoed the government’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), joined counterparts from MEDEF Afrique and CGEM Morocco in affirming their readiness to invest in the PND 2026-2030. « We are fully prepared to contribute through substantial financial commitments, » they declared collectively.
Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), also underscored the critical role of public-private collaboration in unlocking Côte d’Ivoire’s potential.
