“I want tomorrow’s FEG to be recognised not only for defending businesses, but above all for making them succeed.”
That was the wish expressed by Alain Claude Kouakoua, president of the Fédération des Entreprises du Gabon (FEG), during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF) on Saturday, 27 June 2026, at the Palais des Congrès.
This event brings together decision-makers and international partners as a platform designed to address Gabon’s economic challenges.
Speaking pragmatically, the FEG president stressed that no country has developed without strong businesses. In his view, the company is not a peripheral actor – it is the engine.
For his part, Vice-President of the Republic Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier underlined the state’s understanding and support for the private sector: “The state will do its part to ensure that the cleaning up of public finances allows what is owed to private companies to be paid on time.”
His speech carried a strong ambition: “to build a diversified economy, less dependent on raw materials and more oriented toward industrialisation.”
This forum therefore represents a robust dialogue to drive forward Gabon’s economic challenges and objectives.
