“I want tomorrow the FEG to be recognized not only for defending businesses, but above all for making them succeed.”
This was the wish expressed by Alain Claude Kouakoua, president of the Federation of Gabonese Enterprises (FEG), during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF) on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès.
This event, bringing together decision-makers and international partners, serves as a platform to tackle Gabon’s economic challenges. With a pragmatic approach, the FEG president stressed that no country has ever developed without robust enterprises. In his view, businesses are not peripheral actors but the very engine of growth.
For his part, Vice President Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier highlighted the state’s alignment and support for the private sector: “The state will do its part to ensure that fiscal consolidation allows, in due time, the settlement of what is owed to private businesses.” This engaging statement conveyed a strong ambition: “to build a diversified economy, less dependent on raw materials and more focused on industrialization.”
Thus, the forum symbolizes a robust dialogue to advance Gabon’s economic stakes and objectives.
