Ivorian prime minister rallies investors for 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off today at the Abidjan Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. The event was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s economic growth.

« This session marks a pivotal step in mobilizing private investments to turn our development vision into reality, » stated Robert Beugré Mambé. « We are thrilled to welcome over 700 investors from partner nations who have joined this initiative to shape the future of Côte d’Ivoire’s economy. »

Addressing a room filled with business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, the Prime Minister highlighted the gathering as a key platform for fostering collaboration and aligning shared development goals.

« Your participation reflects the confidence you place in our economic potential, » he said. « Together, we can build a more competitive economy that generates jobs and fosters innovation. The success of this plan hinges on your willingness to invest in Côte d’Ivoire. »

The Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years and its standing among Africa’s most dynamic economies.

« This is a market brimming with opportunities, » he asserted. « Today’s discussions will focus on accelerating investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local raw material processing, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—and human capital investment. These investments will enhance our competitiveness and attractiveness while fostering a more productive and inclusive economy. »

He also noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, which targeted institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from the business community echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision.
