The newly appointed Governor of Lions Club International District 403-A2, Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, has officially embarked on his regional tour across the four nations within his district, commencing his engagements in Côte d’Ivoire. Minister of Plan and Development, Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, welcomed Governor HILLAH to his office on Monday, August 31, 2026.
District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions located within Ivorian territory. The core initiatives of Lions Club International primarily focus on empowering young people through capacity building and safeguarding the environment.
During the visit, the esteemed organization reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to backing the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030.
The Minister of Plan and Development emphasized the opportune timing of this visit, highlighting that Côte d’Ivoire has recently inaugurated a new cycle for its National Development Plan, marking a crucial phase in its trajectory. This development is a significant topic in African society news.
The PND 2026-2030 embodies the strategic vision of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to propel Côte d’Ivoire into the ranks of upper-middle-income countries by the year 2030.
Dr. DIARRASSOUBA also underscored the robust mobilization of various partners around the PND 2026-2030. He reiterated that the government’s actions are meticulously aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s comprehensive Agenda 2063, reflecting the broader pan-African current affairs agenda.
