Morocco and Oman sign judicial cooperation memorandum to enhance legal expertise
The Moroccan and Omani Ministries of Justice have formalized a landmark agreement in Rabat aimed at elevating the skills of legal professionals through structured training programs, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives.
In a significant move to deepen bilateral relations, Morocco and Oman have inked a memorandum of understanding in Rabat that paves the way for enhanced judicial cooperation. The agreement focuses on empowering legal professionals through targeted training initiatives and systematic knowledge sharing.
The MoU outlines a collaborative framework that includes the exchange of action plans, scientific content, and specialized training programs. It also envisions the organization of conferences, workshops, and annual action plans to ensure the effective implementation of the commitments made by both sides.
During the signing ceremony, key discussions revolved around shared judicial priorities and the future trajectory of institutional cooperation. The goal is to modernize justice systems and bolster professional competencies in the legal sector.
Morocco’s Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, emphasized that this accord reflects the robust fraternal ties between Morocco and Oman. He highlighted the mutual commitment to strengthening judicial and legal cooperation, particularly through investments in training, expertise sharing, and capacity building for justice sector actors.
On behalf of Oman, the attending representative underscored that the memorandum serves as a practical blueprint for deepening collaboration between the two ministries. It opens new avenues for exchanging experiences, specialized knowledge, and skills in the training and qualification of lawyers, jurists, and legal experts.
