With José Mourinho back at the helm of Real Madrid, the club is actively shaping its future roster. An agreement in principle has been reached for the transfer of Marc Cucurella, with the Chelsea player poised to finalize his move after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The latest iteration of Real Madrid is beginning to take shape. Following a trophy-less season, Florentino Perez, recently re-elected as the club’s president, is determined to initiate a significant shake-up. After the announcement of José Mourinho’s return as head coach, the club’s management is now accelerating its efforts in the transfer market.
A wave of new signings expected after the World Cup
A preliminary agreement has been secured for Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid. This acquisition addresses José Mourinho’s desire for a new left-back. The player is therefore set to depart Chelsea, with his transfer anticipated to be officially confirmed subsequent to the World Cup. The reported value of this operation stands at approximately 50 million euros.
Beyond Marc Cucurella, Real Madrid has made substantial progress in assembling its revitalized squad. Bernardo Silva, whose contract with Manchester City is expiring, and Ibrahima Konaté, also nearing the end of his contract with Liverpool, are both expected to arrive in the Spanish capital following the World Cup. Additionally, Denzel Dumfries, the right-back for the Netherlands national team and Inter Milan, is also on the list of anticipated new recruits.
