Ndiaga Seck denies Ousmane Sonko knew of private life amid legal scrutiny

Politician’s statement under judicial review

During a series of court hearings, Ndiaga Seck, a 51-year-old political figure, firmly denied that Ousmane Sonko, the Prime Minister, had any awareness of his personal affairs. Speaking in Wolof, Seck asserted, « Xamul woon li may dund », translating to « He knew nothing about my private life ».

This declaration came as part of a broader legal examination into allegations of acts against nature, which have since escalated to a formal indictment. Seck was initially detained by authorities in Linguère before being transferred to the investigative chamber in Louga, where he now faces a detention order while proceedings advance.

Legal proceedings take center stage

The case, which emerged from the urban police station in Linguère, has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved. Legal experts note that the mandate of detention, issued by the investigating judge at the Louga Court of First Instance, underscores the gravity of the accusations leveled against Seck.

Under Senegalese law, acts against nature refer to specific legal provisions concerning alleged indecent or prohibited conduct. The investigation remains ongoing, with further testimonies and evidence expected to shape the outcome.
