Fresh off their Champions League triumph, Paris Saint-Germain is already making significant moves behind the scenes in the transfer market. The club’s initial summer acquisition appears set to arrive from Russia, with the transfer of Aleksey Batrakov for approximately €25 million reportedly nearing completion.

Following their decisive victory in the Champions League final against Arsenal, PSG has swiftly turned its attention to the upcoming season. A primary objective for the transfer window is to inject new talent without overhauling the successful squad. The Parisian strategy, which prioritizes investing in promising young talents, is set to continue with Aleksey Batrakov now reportedly on the cusp of joining PSG. Dmitry Cheltsov, an agent deeply familiar with the Russian football landscape, suggests there’s a 95% chance that the offensive midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow will make the move to the French capital.

“Batrakov is almost certainly (95%) heading to Paris. Executives from PSG and Lokomotiv have already engaged in around ten phone discussions. This week – which concludes today – Campos is scheduled to travel to Moscow to finalize the transfer. Only an act of God could derail this deal. The transfer fee is projected to be €25 million, with a salary around €5 or €6 million annually. The transfer is expected to materialize within the next two weeks,” Cheltsov revealed during an appearance on the European Review program on Comment.Show.
lokomotiv coach confirms psg talks for batrakov
Andrey Nagibin, who coached Aleksey Batrakov during his time in Lokomotiv Moscow‘s youth teams, has corroborated the ongoing negotiations with PSG. “To my knowledge, discussions with PSG are indeed underway. He certainly possesses the attributes to compete at the highest level. However, many aspects will need to change. The standard of the French league surpasses that of Russia,” Nagibin stated in an interview with Championat. “I believe numerous factors must align for Batrakov to contend for a starting position. Yet, we have the example of Safonov: he arrived as a backup goalkeeper, seized his opportunity, and became a starter. I recently met with Alexey, and we discussed this; he is eager to test himself at PSG. I wished him good fortune and hope everything goes smoothly,” he added.
